JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of state-owned postal firm PT Pos Indonesia Sukamto Padmosukarso for questioning on Thursday (June 18) related to further investigation into corruption case of the Rp5.8 trillion national electronic identity card (e-KTP) project.

KPK’s Spokesperson Priharsa Nugraha explained to the press that Sukamto will be questioned as a witness for Sugiharto, a suspect in the case.

Sugiharto had been named as suspect in the case since April 22, 2014. The KPK charged him with Article 2 paragraph 1 and Article 3 of the
Anti-Corruption Law juncto Article 55 paragraph 1 point 1 juncto Article 64 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).

Sugiharto, the Director of the Home Ministry’s Citizen Administration Information Management, was subordinate of Gamawan Fauzi during Gamawan’s tenure as Home Affairs Minister. Sugiharto was a Commitment Making Official (PPK) for the e-KTP project.

The KPK estimated Rp1.12 trillion of state losses from the case. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
