JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned, for questioning, Drajat Wisnu Setyawan, Secretary of the Home Ministry’s civil registration Chief, on Friday (Nov. 21).

Two days ago (Wednesday), KPK raided Drajat’s private residence in Pamulang, Tangerang, Banten related to investigation into a graft case for Rp6 trillion procurement project of electronic identity cards (e-KTP).

KPK’s Head for News & Information Priharsa Nugraha said KPK will question Drajat as a witness for Sugiharto, a suspect in the case.

Other than that, KPK’s investigators also raided the office of the Home Ministry in Kalibata, South Jakarta.

Sugiharto had been named as suspect in the case since Apr. 22. Sugiharto, the Director of the Home Ministry’s Citizen Administration Information Management, was subordinate of Gamawan Fauzi during his tenure as Home Affairs Minister. He was a Commitment Making Official (PPK) for the e-KTP project.

Gamawan’s name was also mentioned in the case after former Democratic Party’s Treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin revealed to the press that Gamawan received a fee from the e-KTP project via his brother.

Nazaruddin also mentioned other high-profile names allegedly implicated in the case, Setya Novanto of Golkar Party. Gamawan and Novanto, however, denied Nazaruddin’s accusations. Gamawan even filed a police report against Nazaruddin. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
