JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has raided on Monday (June 22) the office of Musi Banyuasin Regent Pahri Azhari related to further investigation into a bribery case of the discussion of the 2015 revised Musi Banyuasin regencial budget (RAPBD-P 2015).
KPK’s Spokesperson Priharsa Nugraha revealed that the raids were also conducted in seven other locations. Those seven other locations are the offices of the Musi Banyuasin’s Revenue and Asset Management Agency/DPPKAD), the Musi Banyuasin Development Planning Board/Bappeda), the Musi Banyuasin Legislative Council (DPRD), the Musi Banyuasin’s Cipta Karya, the Musi Banyuasin’s Bina Marga, and DPPKAD’s Head Syamsuddin Fei.
The KPK also raided a rent house owned by Bambang Karyanto, a PDI-P lawmaker at the DPRD Musi Banyuasin and one of four suspects in the case. Three other suspects in this case are Munandar of Gerindra, Syamsudin Fei, and Faisyar (Head of the Bappeda Musi Banyuasin).
The four suspects were earlier caught red-handed by the KPK investigators in a bribery transaction in Musi Banyuasin regency, South Sumatra province, Saturday (June 20). The KPK seized Rp2.56 billion bribe money from the transaction. The KPK has also asked Immigration office to ban Regent Pahri, a PAN politician, from overseas travel. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
