JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named three officials from the Jakarta Futures Market (BBJ) as suspects for allegation of receiving gratification related to the case implicating PT Indokliring Internasional and the Trade Ministry’s Futures Exchange Supervisory Board (Bappebti).

KPK’s Spokesperson Priharsa Nugraha revealed that three suspects in the case are Muhammad Bihar Sakti Wibowo (President Director of BBJ), Hassan Widjaja and Sherman Rana Krisna (shareholders of BBJ).

Priharsa said that three suspects were allegedly bribing Syahrul Raja Sempurnajaya, at that time served as the Head of the Bappebti, with Rp7 billion money. The bribe money, according to Priharsa, was aimed to pursue Syahrul to help PT Indokliring Internasional to get its license from the Bappebti.

Syahrul himself has been sentenced to eight years in jail last year. In addition, panel of judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court, in their verdict read on Nov. 12, 2014, also ordered Syahrul to pay Rp800 million in fine or serving additional six months imprisonment. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
