JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has on Friday (Sep. 26) named Annas Maamun, Riau Governor and key leader from Golkar Party, as suspect after being caught red handed for receiving bribe money from a businessman.
In a press briefing on Friday, KPK Chief Abraham Samad said the KPK has charged Annas with Article 12a or Article 12b or Article 11 of the Anti-Corruption Law.
According to Abraham, the KPK has seized Rp500 million and Sin$156,000 cash money from the transaction.
Abraham also explained that suspect in the case is Gulat Medali, a businessman who was caught red handed for bribing Annas in an alleged bribery transaction on Thursday in Cibubur, East Jakarta. Gulat Medali is known as Chairman of the Palm Oil Farmers Association. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
