JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Speaker of the Bangkalan Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) Fuad Amin Imron as graft suspect.
KPK arrested the politician from Prabowo Subianto’s Gerindra Party since Tuesday (Dec. 2) night after being caught red-handed in a bribery transaction.
KPK earlier questioned Fuad for almost 24 hours since early Tuesday for a bribery transaction related to gas supply agreement between PT Media Karya Sentosa (MKS) and PD Sumber Jaya, a company owned by Bangkalan regency administration.
Fuad is former Bangkalan Regent prior to serve as Speaker of the DPRD Bangkalan.
Other than Fuad, KPK also named three other suspects in the case. They are Fuad’s adjutant namely Rauf, Director of PT MKS Antonio Bambang Djatmiko, and Navy soldier First Corporal Darmono.
As reported earlier, Fuad along with three other suspects in the case were caught red-handed in a bribery transaction on Monday night. KPK seized Rp700 million of bribe cash money from the tansaction.
KPK alleged Fuad as a bribe taker and Antonio as a bribe giver, while Rauf and Darmono are allegedly as the brokers. KPK seized Rp700 million of bribe cash money from the tansaction.
Fuad Amin Imron is a Chairman of Gerindra’s Bangkalan branch. But yesterday, Prabowo Subianto, as Gerindra Chairman, has dismissed Fuad from the party following Fuad’s arresment. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
