JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to advance its relationship with the military in fighting the corruption as the Army’s Special Forces (Kopassus) also helps to train new investigators working at KPK office.
KPK Chief Abraham Samad explained that 180 new KPK officials will undergo a special training under the supervision of Kopassus for 48 days at the Kopassus training center (Pusdikpassus) in Batujajar, Cimahi, Bandung, West Java. The training started Wednesday (Nov. 6) and will last in December 21, 2013.
Last month, KPK revealed that about 30 military officers took part on the selection test for working as investigators at KPK office. The recruitment of investigators from military corps was a follow up of the co-operation between the two institutions.
The cooperation of KPK and the military increased after KPK faced a frictions with the Police. The Police institution had ordered its officers worked as KPK’s investigators to return to their corps. The recall was issued after last year KPK arrested and named Police Insp. Gen. Djoko Susilo (at that time was Chief of the National Police Traffic Corps) as suspect related to the graft and money laundering cases on the procurement of driving simulators by the National Police Traffic Corps.
