JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hunts more potential graft suspects in energy & mineral resources sector as the Anti-Graft Commission believed that Rudi Rubiandini, dismissed Head of the powerful agency SKK Migas, is not the only one involved in graft practices in this strategic sector.
“This is systemic. So, I think it’s impossible only one person was involved,” said Busyro Muqoddas, Deputy Chief of KPK, Thursday (Aug 29).
Busyro stated that KPK will soon summon people allegedly involved in this case.
Previously, KPK has named Rudi Rubiandini as graft suspect after arrested him at his residence and confiscated US$700,000 of bribery money alleged from Kernel Oil at the scene.
KPK also discovered US$350,000 cash in a safe deposit box owned by Rudi at state Bank Mandiri, S$60,000 at Rudi’s safe deposit box at SKK Migas office plus US$2,000 and six gold plates.
KPK also named Simon Gunawan Tanjaya (mentioned as Commissioner of Kernel Oil Indonesia) and Deviardi (mentioned as Rudi’s golf trainer) as two other suspects in the case.
Later, KPK has asked for overseas travel ban to be imposed against three SKK Migas officers namely Agus Sapto Rahardjo (Head of Crude Oil & Condensate Commercial Division), Popi Ahmad Nafis (Head of Gas Commercial
Division), and Iwan Ratman (Head of Operational Division).
KPK also imposed the overseas travel ban on Artha Meris Simbolon, CEO of PT Surya Parna Niaga (SPN), member of Parna Raya Group – a group established by Marihad Simbolon. Parna Raya notably entered into a gas supply agreement with Husky Oil related to Husky’s Madura BD Field in offshore East Java.
Other than illicit money confiscated from Rudi, KPK also discovered US$200,000 cash inside a black bag at the office of Wayono Karno, Secretary General of Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources. This latest founding directed KPK’s investigation into the possibility involvement of Jero Wacik, Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources and as well as Chairman of Supervisory Board of SKK Migas.
Responding to journalist questions, KPK Chief Abraham Samad had earlier stated firmly that KPK will be not hesitated to summon Jero Wacik, who also serves as Secretary of the powerful High Council of President SBY’s Democratic Party. “Well, Minister of Youth & Sports (Andi Mallarangeng), who is a golden boy (rather than Jero Wacik), we’d named him as suspect, right,” said Abraham.
