JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to likely question Jero Wacik, Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources and leader of President SBY’s Democratic Party, Tuesday (Nov. 26) related to investigation into graft scandals at the powerful Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (SKK Migas).

Priharsa Nugraha, Spokesperson of the KPK, said Jero will be questioned as witness for Rudi Rubiandini, the dismissed Chief of SKK Migas and one of suspects in the case.

As reported earlier, KPK has repeatedly summoned and examined Waryono Karno (Secretary General of Energy & Mineral Resources Ministry) and I Gusti Putu Ade Pranjaya (adjutant of Minister Jero Wacik). Latest, KPK has asked the Immigration Office to impose overseas travel ban on Waryono and Karno and I Gusti Putu Ade Pranjaya.

The speculation about the involvement of other high-profile figures at the Energy & Mineral Resources Ministry in the SKK Migas graft scandals came to surface after KPK seized US$200,000 fund stashed at Waryono’s office.(haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
