JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned, for questioning, former convict Mohammad El Idris, Marketing Manager of PT Duta Graha Indah (DGI), on Wednesday (Nov. 19) related to further investigation into a graft case of the controversial construction project of the athlete dormitory in Palembang, South Sumatra.
KPK’s Head of News & Information Priharsa Nugraha said KPK will question El Idris as a witness for Rizal Abdullah, former Head of South Sumatra’s Public Works Office and a new suspect in the case.
As reported earlier, KPK has named Rizal Abdullah as suspect in the case on Sep. 29, 2014. El Idris, meanwhile, has completed his two-years prison sentence. Back in 2011, the Jakarta Corruption Court dropped two years in prison to El Idris in athlete dormitory case.
KPK, in its indictment against El Idris, mentioned Rizal Abdullah’s name as one of receiving fees from the athlete dormitory project from Idris. The indictment also mentions Idris’ confession about PT DGI’s plan to give a 2.5% fee from the total Rp191 billion fund of the athlete dormitory’s construction project to Alex. PT DGI was the winner of the project tender.
Alex Noerdin, meanwhile, has previously denied all allegations against him related to the athlete dormitory case, including allegation on receiving fee from the project. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
