JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Bambang Widjojanto has tendered his temporary resignation as Deputy Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday (Jan. 26) following the National Police’s decision to name him as suspect.

Bambang earlier has been named as suspect in the case related to post-election dispute of Kotawaringin Barat regency back in 2010. He was detained by the National Police’s Criminal Investigation (Bareskrim Polri) since Friday (Jan. 23) before released on Sunday.

The Bareskrim Polri alleged Bambang for his involvement in falsifying testimony to the Constitutional Court during the trial of Kotawaringin Barat post-election dispute.

The National Police’s Spokesperson Insp. Gen. Ronny F Sompie claimed the Bareskrim has collected enough evidences to name Bambang as suspect in the case despite the Bareskrim has just investigated the case since Jan. 15, 2015. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
