JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Abraham Samad has once again denied all accusations made against him, including by PDI-P politicians.

In a press briefing on Monday (Feb. 2), Abraham answered all rumors recently circulated in the media that already discredited him. Abraham said he had never initiated to be nominated for running in the 2014 presidential race.

Abraham argued that the interaction with political parties’ elites is inevitable considered his position as the KPK Chief. He noted that he is oftenly asked to take a picture altogether with a lot of figures. But he firmly stated that he has never promised to anyone to help them in the case handled by the KPK.

Abraham also once again said that the photographs showing him and a woman, looked like as Miss Indonesia 2014 Elvira Devinamira, are not true. He claimed KPK’s forensic team has proven that the photographs were edited.

Abraham, however, let the Internal Supervisory Team of the KPK to conduct necessary investigation related to all cases recently implicating the KPK leaders, including all rumors discrediting him.

As reported earlier, some photographs showing Abraham and a woman, looked like as Elvira Devinamira, were circulated in the net. Other than those photographs, PDI-P’s Acting Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto accused Abraham for actively lobbying PDI-P to nominate him as Jokowi’s running mate. Hasto claimed he has evidences and witnesses to prove his accusations against Abraham.

Latest, another PDI-P politician Arteria Dahlan revealed a photograph showing the meeting between Abraham and someone with initial name of RNH, a son of a high-ranking military officer. Arteria said the meeting was aimed to discuss Abraham’s nomination as Jokowi’s running mate. He also said the meeting was attended by PDI-P key leaders.

Media speculated RNH as Ronny Narpatisuta Hendropriyono, the son of former Chief of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Gen. (ret) Abdullah Mahmud Hendropriyono. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
