JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested Akil Mochtar, chief justice of the Constitutional Court, on Wednesday (October 2nd).
Akil was arrested at his official residence at Jl Widya Chandra III No 7, South Jakarta, reportedly related to bribery in the handling of post election dispute in Kalimantan.
KPK investigators also arrested four others, including one lawmaker, at the scene. Investigators also confiscated around Rp3 billion of cash money from them.
The lawmaker, identified as CN, is member of the House Commission II from Golkar Party. Akil Mochtar himself is a former lawmaker from the party currently led by Aburizal Bakrie.
