Priyo-25mJAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigates involvement of Priyo Budi Santoso, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), who is also key executive of Golkar Party, in the high profile Koran procurement graft scandal.

“There are preliminary evidences leading to Priyo, but need to be investigated further,” said Busyro Muqoddas, deputy chief of KPK, as quoted by Kompas.com Saturday.

Priyo is alleged of receiving fees in the procurement of computer laboratories at ministry of education and procurement of Koran at ministry of religious affairs. Priyo dismissed the allegations saying the cases have nothing to do with him.

Golkar Party lawmaker Zulkarnaen Djabar and his son Dendi Prasetya have earlier been named suspects in the case. Three weeks ago, Court sentenced Zulkarnaen 12 years and five months of jail term. Son Dendi, meanwhile, was sentenced nine years prison in the same case.
