JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Commission for Human Rights (Komnas HAM) will summon, for questioning, Deputy Chief of the National Police Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti and Chief of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation (Kabareskrim) Insp. Gen. Budi Waseso related to police actions against the Deputy Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Bambang Widjojanto.

Nur Kholis of Komnas HAM said his side has scheduled a questioning for Badrodin Haiti on Wednesday (Jan. 28).

Other than Badrodin Haiti and Budi Waseso, Nur Kholis said Komnas HAM will also summon all related parties in the case, including Kotawaringin Barat Regent.

As reported earlier, Bambang Widjojanto has been named as suspect by the Bareskrim related to the post-election dispute of Kotawaringin Barat regency. He was detained for two days before being released on Sunday.

Bambang then filed a report to Komnas HAM regarding harsh treatment from police officers during his arrest on Friday last week. He told Komnas HAM that he was handcuffed and verbally assaulted in front of his 10-year-old son, Muhammad Yattaqi. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
