JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State pharmaceutical company PT Kimia Farma Tbk (KAEF) needs US$150 million to fund its business transformation into healthcare by 2015, Investor Daily reported this morning.

The fund will be used to finance the establishment of new factory in West Java which costs US$80 million and the acquisition of 55% shares of PT Asuransi Jiwa Inhealth Indonesia at value of US$70 million.

KAEF also plans to build minimum 50 pharmacy outlets per year, 100 clinics, and 20 laboratory clinics. The company plans to build 3 hospitals and 4 hotels next year under built, operation, and transfer (BOT) scheme.

As of October 2013, KAEF operated 500 pharmacy outlets. By end of 2012, it operated 33 laboratory clinics and 64 health clinics.
