LONDON (Yosefardi) – Kerendan gas field, co-owned by Salamander Energy Plc and PT Saka Energi, subsidiary of Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGAS), is on schedule for production start-up in the fourth quarter of 2014.
“Construction of gas processing facility has started and PLN has now awarded the contract for the construction of its Kerendan power plant to Finnish power generation specialist Wartsila. The contract calls for start-up 15 months after signature,” Salamander said this morning.
Saka Energy has made a cash payment for 30% interest in the Bangkanai PSC and will carry $30 million of Salamander’s forward development costs.
The Kerendan gas field has completed drilling of four development wells that tested a combined rate exceeding 40 MMSCFD.
The West Kerendan-1 exploration well site, meanwhile, has been completed and the Drillco-1 rig is being rigged up on location. “The well is expected to spud in third quarter of 2013 and is forecast to take about 60 days to reach its planned total depth of 4250 meters,” Salamander added.
