SIMPANGAMPEK (Indonesia Today) – South Korean investor Korea Electric Power Industrial Development (KEPID) plans to build biomass-based power plant in Pasaman Barat, West Sumatra.
Antara News Agency reported that KEPID will use palm oil waste as feedstock for the power plant, which needs at least Rp1.5 trillion of investment.
Korea Bio Fuel (BBF) CEO Lee Dong Kyu told the news agency that KDHC, KOPO, and Industrial Bank of Korea will participate in the project. Indonesian company PT BPJ will also in the group.
Pasaman Barat regent Baharuddin R promised to accelerate licensing for the project. The area has about 150,784 hectares of oil palm plantation, producing around 453,000 tons of crude palm oil (CPO) per annum.
