JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – About 200,000 residents living within a ten-kilometers radius of Kelud Volcano have been evacuated following the eruption of the volcano in Kediri, East Java province.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), through his personal twitter account, said 200,000 residents have been evacuated to several shelters located in Kediri, Blitar, and Malang in East Java.
The president said no casualty of the eruption. The eruption has forced the local authority to close the Juanda international airport and the Adi Sucipto airport until Saturday (Feb. 15). Hundreds of flights have been canceled.
