JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is on Monday (Sep. 21) expected to open the two-day National Work Meeting (Rakernas) of Nasdem Party, one of members of the ruling coalition, at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).
According to the head of Nasdem’s Election Victory Body Enggartiasto Lukito, Vice President Jusuf Kalla will also attend the event.
Enggartiasto explains that the meeting is conducted as part of the party’s preparation ahead of the 2015 simultaneous regional elections scheduled on Dec. 9.
Nasdem, led by media mogul Surya Paloh, is currently the third largest political party in the ruling coalition behind PDI-P and PKB.
The party controls three strategic portfolios in Jokowi-Kalla Working Cabinet, among others, Attorney General, Ministry of Environment & Forestry, and Ministry of Spatial Planning & the National Land Agency (BPN). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
