JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto revealed that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo plans to dissolve 40 non-structural institutions as part of the effort to slim down the current administration. The President earlier has dissolved 10 non-structural institutions.
Andi Widjajanto, however, was reluctant to reveal 40 non-structural institutions to be dissolved soon.
As reported earlier, President Jokowi signed a presidential regulation No. 176/2014 dissolving 10 non-structural institutions, including the Indonesian Sugar Council, the National Law Commission, the Development Council for Eastern Indonesia, the National Aeronautics & Space Council, the National Book Council, the Controlling Body for the Development of Public Works, and the Inter-Department Committee for Forestry Affairs.
The presidential regulation No. 176/2014 also revokes 10 presidential decrees that established 10 non-structural institutions.
Law expert Andi Irmanputra Sidin praised Jokowi’s decision to dissolve said ten non-structural institutions. He hopes Jokowi will continue his policy to slim down his administration by dissolving more non-structural institutions. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
