JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is scheduled to make another visit to Sumatra and Kalimantan islands this week in order to inspect the efforts to extinguish forest fires in the two islands.
President Jokowi, as scheduled, to visit Kalimantan Island first before visiting Sumatra Island. According to acting Governor of South Kalimantan Tarmizi Abdul Karim, the President will arrive today (Sep. 23) at Banjarmasin.
Tarmizi said, the President will inspect the efforts to extinguish the forest fires for the whole day before spending time in Banjarmasin celebrating Idul Adha (an Islamic holiday of sacrifice) on Thursday (Sep. 24).
On Sep. 25, Jokowi is expected to arrive in Pekanbaru, Riau province, Sumatra Island, and will visit Kampar regency to inspect the efforts to extinguish the forest fires in the regency. Jokowi then visit North Sumatra to inspect eruption mitigation at Mount Sinabung. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
