JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Indonesian Democratic Party for Struggle (PDI-P), predicted to win next year’s elections, denied recent rumors circulated on the net about the endorsement of popular Jakarta Governor Joko (Jokowi) Widodo and his running mate Muhammad Prananda Prabowo as presidential and vice presidential pair candidate in 2014 presidential election.
Rumors about Jokowi and Prananda pair intensifies during the publication of the blog www.jokowiprananda.com, but today the blog can not be accessed. This blog promoted Jokowi and Prananda pair as “Jalan Perubahan” (JP, the acronym of Jokowi and Prananda’s initials) or “The Way of Change”.
Tjahjo Kumolo, Secretary General of PDI-P, denied allegation that PDI-P itself has developed the blog. People might have understood that PDI-P wants to know public reaction over Jokowi-Prananda pair through building a special blog for this pair.
Thahjo revealed that PDI-P has yet decided its presidential and vice presidential pair candidate.
Jokowi, based on various surveys, has been mentioned as the strongest presidential candidate for next year’s race.
Prananda aka Nanan, meanwhile, is a son of Megawati. He currently serves PDI-P as the party’s Head of political environment analysis. PDI-P cadres mentioned Prananda as the heir of Soekarno, the first President of Indonesia. While others mentioned him as Megawati’s right hand and having similar leadership character with his mother. Back in the 2010, at a congress in Bali, Prananda’s name came to surface as the successor of Megawati.
Latest, Jokowi, Prananda, and Megawati visited Pluit Dam in Muara Baru, North Jakarta on October 5. They also took a lunch together in a sidewalk food stall (locally called as warteg). (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
