JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Today, the Constitutional Court is scheduled to rule on the legal battle of presidential election disputed by Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa.
The Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Hamdan Zoelva will directly presided the trial assisted by eight other constitutional judges.
Prabowo and Hatta, however, have not yet confirmed to present in the trial. While Jokowi and Kalla, according to PDI-P Secretary General Tjahjo Kumolo, will not present in the trial as both will hear the verdict from their private residences respectively.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, meanwhile, will watch the trial from the State Palace, a few hundreds meters from the Constitutional Court’s building.
The outgoing President earlier already ordered the Commander of the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Chief of the National Police to guard the court’s building and the trial as well.
In a related progress, the Election Organizers Ethics Council (DKPP) will also announce its ruling on presidential on Prabowo-Hatta’s lawsuit over allegations of electoral violations committed by the General Election Commission (KPU). (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
