JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, winner of the first round election for Jakarta governor, leads in some polls to win the second round of election scheduled September 24, some polls suggested.

Pollsters lost their credibility for the gap between surveys and results of the first round, when Jokowi led the tally with substantial margin over incumbent governor Fauzi ‘Foke’ Bowo. Their credibility will be tested again in the second around.

A survey by Soegeng Sarjadi School for Government (SSSG) in the period of September 4-12 shown 36.74% participants voted for Jokowi and 29.47% for Foke. SSSG, however, said the race will be in winning the undecided voters (22.04%).

Another survey from Indonesia Network Elections Survey (INES) shown majority of respondents prefer Jokowi over Foke. INES, which claimed to have surveyed 10,000 respondents in the period of August 28-September 9, found 72.48% votes for Jokowi and 27.52% votes for Foke.
