JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Acting Governor of Jakarta Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama was showing their unity to public in a tour at the State Palace in Medan Merdeka Utara, Jakarta, on Wednesday (Oct. 22) morning.
Both Jokowi and Ahok earlier this morning departed to the State Palace together from the official resident of Jakarta Governor in Menteng, Central Jakarta. Joining in their entourage were the First Lady Iriana Widodo, Ahok’s wife Veronica Tan, the President children Kaesang Pangarep and Kahiyang Ayu, the leaders of Jakarta’s Legislative Council (DPRD) and high-officials from the Jakarta’s administration.
Both Jokowi and Ahok confirmed that the entourage of Jakarta’s administration wants to officially escorting Jokowi and his family from Jokowi’s previous office at the Jakarta Governor’s official resident to Jokowi’s new office at the State Palace.
As reported earlier, Jokowi has been sworn in as the sevent President of the Republic on Monday. With Jokowi’s inauguration, Ahok will soon be installed as the new Jakarta Governor replacing Jokowi to lead the office of the Jakarta administration in Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta.
Previously, in a gathering with the officials of the Jakarta administration, Ahok literally said that Jakarta’s problems could be only resolved should Medan Merdeka Selatan and Medan Merdeka Utara join in hands. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
