JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Jero Wacik, graft suspect and one of key leaders of SBY’s Democratic Party, will attend the first trial of a pre-trial petition he filed at the South Jakarta District Court against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Monday (Apr. 20).
But Jero previously failed to answer the third call from the KPK for questioning.
Back in Sep. 3, 201, KPK has named Jero as a graft suspect in a case of extortion practices when he served as minister of Culture & Tourism. The state loss is estimated at around Rp7 billion from this case.
Jero was also named as suspect in a similar case of extortion practices when he served as minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM).
Jero served as minister of Culture& Tourism from 2004 to 2011 and as minister of Energy & Mineral Resources from 2011 to 2014 under the ten years of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) administration. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
