JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Jero Wacik, graft suspect and former minister of Culture & Tourism, has once again failed to answer the call from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for questioning on Monday (Apr. 13).

This is the third time for Jero Wacik to skip questioning session at the KPK’s office. The KPK itself previously revealed about the possibility to put Jero by force should he failed to answer the third call from the KPK.

In the meantime, the South Jakarta District Court decided to postpone the process of a pre-trial petition filed by Jero against KPK’s decision on naming him as a graft suspect.

KPK is actually to question Jero as a graft suspect in a case of extortion practices when he served as minister of Culture& Tourism in the period of 2004-2011.

KPK has named Jero, who is also one of key leaders of SBY’s Democratic Party, as a graft suspect in said case since Sep. 3, 2014. The state loss is estimated at around Rp7 billion from this case.

Other than a case of extortion practices when serving as minister of Culture& Tourism, Jero was also named as suspect in a similar case of extortion practices when he served as minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM).

Under the ten years of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) administration, Jero served as minister of Culture& Tourism from 2004 to 2011 before served as minister of Energy & Mineral Resources from 2011 to 2014. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
