JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) Jero Wacik will soon get his legal status in a graft case related to several procurement projects in the ESDM Ministry.

The Deputy Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Bambang Widjojanto said KPK will soon reveal the results of the ‘case expose’ conducted by its investigators over the graft case implicating Jero Wacik, who is also one of key leaders from President SBY’s Democratic Party. Bambang said KPK may announce the results this week.

Usually KPK names the suspect of the case when publicly announcing the results of the ‘case expose’.

As reported earlier, KPK has questioned Jero Wacik as witness on July 16 on the suspicion related to several procurement projects in the ESDM Ministry since 2010.

KPK has also questioned Jero’s wife Triesnawati Jero Wacik in relation to suspicious flow of funds from the ESDM Ministry to several community organizations.

Other than that, KPK has also questioned Jero as witness related to investigation into graft scandals at the powerful Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (SKK Migas) and the ESDM Ministry.

In this case, Rudi Rubiandini (former SKK Migas Chief), Waryono Karno (Secretary General of Energy & Mineral Resources Ministry), and Sutan Bhatoegana  were among the suspects in the case. Jero Wacik’s adjutant Putu Ade Pranjaya, meanwhile, had been banned from overseas travel. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
