JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and The Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea EximBank) will provide loan for funding the expansion of coal-fired power plant (PLTU) in Cirebon, West Java, a unit 2 PLTU with capacity of 1,000 megawatts (MW), Investor Daily reported this morning.
Wisnu Wardhana, president director of PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY), said his party has secured commitment of loan facility from 2 banks.
He said JBIC and Korea EximBank will provide loan covering 70% of total funding for the project which reaches US$1.5 billion to US$2 billion.
Indika, Samtan Corporation Limited, Korea Midland Power Corporation, and Marubeni Corporation join in a consortium named PT Cirebon Electric Power for working on expansion of unit 2 Cirebon PLTU.
