JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Japfa Comfeed Tbk (JPFA), one of the largest integrated poultry players in Indonesia, suffered loss of Rp252 billion in the first half of 2015, against profit of Rp363 billion in the same period of 2014.
Revenues declined 0.4% to US$12.15 trillion from previous Rp12.19 trillion but operating profit dropped 53% to Rp352 billion from earlier Rp746 billion. Its assets reached Rp16.8 trillion while liability amounted Rp11.9 trillion.
JPFA attributed the loss to falling average prices of day-old-chick (DOC) due to oversupply. The government of Indonesia asks the players in this sector to cut DOC production by 20% this year.
JPFA expects growth around 10% this year, depending on developments in DOC in the second half.
