Japanese destroyer JS Onami evacuated three bodies from AirAsia QZ 8501 from Karimata Strait, south of Kalimantan Sunday (Jan 4th).
US Navy Seahawk transported the bodies from JS Onami to Pangkalan Bun airport in Central Kalimantan.
JS Onami is one of vessels deployed by Japan to help Indonesian search and rescue team alongside USS Sampson and other vessels from Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, and Australia.
Singapore’s RSS Persistence has earlier evacuated one body from the aircraft alongside parts of the aircraft.
