JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Jakarta city administration plans to immediately auction off the electronic road pricing (ERP) system which would cost around Rp2 trillion.
Vice governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, said two state banks Mandiri (BMRI) and Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI) have expressed their interests to participate in the auction.
“We will select those with better technology, lower fees, and most importantly now fraud,” Basuki said.
ERP is one of six policy measures initiated by city administration to overcome traffic congestion in the capital city, including from the influx of new low-cost-green-car (LCGC). Other policy measures include higher parking tariffs and construction of mass rapid transit (MRT) and monorail.
