JAKARTA, Indonesia Today ??? Jakarta Provincial Administration has lost a land dispute trial over a compensation of a land with social and public utilities status against PT Copylas Indonesia. Supreme Court decides to turn down Jakarta Government???s appeal.
With the decision, PT Copylas is entitled to have the compensation over an 8.2 hectares land for Jakarta Outer Ring Road West 2. PT Copylas has earlier received Rp187 billion from the Jakarta Administration as consignation through verdict from West Jakarta District Court in December 2011.
The case started on the construction process of the Ring Road back in 1997. Copylas claimed the land, which will be used for the construction, is theirs, while Jakarta Regional Administration argued that the land was owned by regional government for social and public utilities.
West Jakarta District Court then ruled in favor of PT Copylas and ordered Public Works Ministry to give the compensation to the company. The case has also been brought to the State Administrative Court that also gave a victory to PT Copylas.
Unsatisfied with the ruling, Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo brought the case to Supreme Court in March 2012. Supreme Court made their decision on August 8th, 2012, which forced Fauzi Bowo, for once again, to admit a loss in the land dispute. (indra@theindonesiatoday.com)
