JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Jermani Ikhsan, a 63-year-old Indonesian citizen and a retired state-owned company (BUMN) official, has been arrested in the Phuket International Airport, Thailand, as he was trying to smuggling 5.2 kilos of cocaine, Detik.com reported.

Spokesperson of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Sr. Comr. Slamet Pribadi confirmed the arrestment.

But there is no further official statement yet on what movement will be taken by the government related to the drug case implicating Jermani Ikhsan.

According to the Thailand authorities, Jermani was arrested at Monday (Apr. 22) evening. The Thailand authorities, moreover, revealed that Jermani flew to Phuket from Singapore with Silk Air airplane.

Prior to the trip, Jermani has been reportedly flew from Bogota (Colombia) to Panama City (Panama) and then continued to Sao Paolo (Brazil) and Doha (Qatar) before arriving in Singapore. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
