JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Ministry of Culture and Elementary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, PT. Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (Persero), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Office in Jakarta, and Panasonic Corporation have conducted “The Borobudur Youth Forum 2015” on June 5-8, 2015 inviting 50 youth participants from Borobudur, Prambanan and across Indonesia.
The Forum aimed to increase public awareness about the importance of safeguarding efforts for the World Heritage sites as well as support to the development of sustainable tourism and creative industries for youth groups and local communities.
The 4 days youth forum was also designed to share inspirations of creative youth projects and actions related with heritage conservation and sustainable tourism across Indonesia to the youth groups living in the surrounding of World Heritage Sites(Borobudur Temple Compounds and Prambanan Temple Compounds).
This initiative was implemented based on the four-way Memorandum of Understanding signed on Oct 9, 2014.
