KUALA LUMPUR (Yosefardi) – Indonesia AirAsia, an associate company owned 49% by AirAsia Berhad, recorded a net loss of Rp530.8 billion in the first quarter of 2015 (1Q15) as compared to a net loss of Rp454.3 billion in 1Q14.

It recorded revenue of Rp1.18 trillion, 14% lower as compared to the Rp1.38 trillion achieved in 1Q14.

The drop in revenue can be attributed to lower passenger volumes which decreased by 26% year-on-year despite the 16% increase in the year-on-year unit passenger revenue.

Passengers carried by Indonesia AirAsia decreased as capacity decrease 19% year-on-year while the seat load factor decreased by 6 percentage points to 70% as compared to 1Q14.
