JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Consumer goods giant Indofood CBP (ICBP), subsidiary of Indofood Sukses Makmur (INDF), raises its instant nooddles price by 5%, in respond to current weakening of rupiah against the US Dollar.

The comany imports raw material for flour and other supporting components for its Bogasari segment.

As reported on financial report for second quarter of this year, cost of raw material for flour jumped 13% to Rp7.62 trillion, from Rp6.73 trillion in the same period of 2012, curbed the revenues of instant noodles segment.

ICBP is now seeking alternatives to replace wheat/flour raw material with sorghum through building partnership with state plantation firm PT Perkebunan Nusantara XII, but both parties have yet to deal on prices.
