JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) fell sharply by 5% to below 4100 in the morning session Tuesday (August 20) on panic selling by investors.
Astra International (ASII), the second largest company on IDX by market cap, was the only blue chip in green zone.
Unilever Indonesia and Telkom lost more than 5% each, while Semen Indonesia plummeted 7.63%. PGN also lost 6.4%, while BRI and BNI collapsed 9% and 7% respectively.
Charoen Pokphand and Global Mediacom lost more than 10% each, while Gudang Garam tumbled 8.54%. Indofood CBP also lost 8.4%, while Adaro Energy conceded 9.5%.
Lippo Karawaci lost 11%, while other property giants were also losing ground significantly.
