JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) finally ended higher, lifted by recovery of blue chip stocks.

The index gained 1% to close at 5022. Nikkei 225 earlier rebounded 2%, while Hang Seng and Singapore’s STI inched up 0.01% each. Shanghai lost 1.17%, while All Ordinaries gained 0.27%.

Consumer goods giant Unilever led the recovery as it surged 7.75% but on thin trading volume. Astra International and BCA also gained 1.42% and 1.51% respectively, while Bank Mandiri gained 2.6%.

Most miners also regained grounds. Buki Asam gained 5.86%, while Adaro edged up 2.2%. Bumi Resources, however, lost another 1.59%.
