JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) gained 0.39% to 5,011 in the morning trade, with Telkom leading the market’s gain.

The IDX reached its higest at 5068 in May 2013. Telkom jumped 4.79% with over 109 million shares exchanged hands.

Bakrie group stocks also gained. Bumi Resources surged 7.14%, Bakrie Sumatra Plantation gained 3.77% and Borneo Lumbung Energi hiked 2.54%.

Other gainers were Multipolar (+6.76%), London Sumatra (+1.49%), Bank Bukopin (+1.57%), Matahari Putra Prima (+1.43%), Pakuwon Jati (+1.27%), Wijaya Karya (+1.46%), Media Nusantara Citra (+2.02%), and Bank Tabungan Negara (+1.36%).

Most investors are still waiting conclusions of coalition talks of political parties ahead of the president and vice president registration in the coming days.

But some are expecting a shorter period of political uncertainty as more signals point to one-round of presidential election in July 9. The latest political development also indicates only two horses (Jokowi and Prabowo) will enter the presidential race.
