JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened up 0.66% at 4,049 this morning, led by blue chip stocks.

Most regional markets also gained. Korea’s KOSPI rose 1.2%. While Australia’s All Ordinaries and Shanghai were in red zone. Regional sentiment also help as selling pressures receded despite uncertainties in Middle East.

In Jakarta bourse, banking stocks also lead market’s gain as investors anticipate possible hike of benchmark BI Rate from today’s special meeting of BI board of governors. Bank Rakyat Indonesia gained 1.5%, Bank Negara Indonesia rose 1.36%, and Bank Mandiri increased 0.7%.

Among blue chip stocks, Astra International jumped 4.46%, Alam Sutera lifted 3.09%, Lippo Karawaci surged 4.85%, and Kalbe Farma climbed 3.33%.
