JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened up 0.43% to 5292 this morning while regional markets were mixed.

Nymex’s crude oil rose 0.72% to US$58.41 per barrel in Asian trading this morning and gold increased 0.14% to US$1,209.40 per ounce.

AKR Corporindo gained 2.68%, Bank Central Asia rose 1.1%, Charoen Pokphand increased 1.1%, Indofood CBP hiked 2%, Kalbe Farma lifted 2%, United Tractors climbed 2%, and Timah advanced 2.26%.

Investors continue buying shares of state steel producer PT Krakatau Steel Tbk (KRAS) on Tuesday, then the stock soared 18 this morning after 25% jumped yesterday. Investors were active in buying KRAS shares following statement of minister of state-owned enterprises (SoEs) Rini Soemarno on Monday which is in favor to KRAS.

Rini said the government requires state construction services firms to use steel iron from Krakatau Steel. The government intends to boost local contents and to protect national steel industry.
