JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened up 0.1% to 4207 this morning while most regional markets were in red following Wall Street.
Janet Yellen, a key force behind the Federal Reserve’s unprecedented and controversial efforts to boost the U.S. economy, was confirmed by the Senate on Monday to lead the central bank, Reuters reported.
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.2% to US$93.62 per barrel in Asian trading and gold rose 0.17% to US$1,240.10 per ounce.
In Jakarta bourse, Astra International gained 0.73%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia rose 0.71%, and Bumi Resources increased 1.72%. While Alam Sutera declined 0.93% and Bumi Serpong Damai lost 2.4%.
