JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened higher 1.43% at 4836 this morning on expectation over positive economic data scheduled to be released today.
Finance minister Chatib Basri expects Indonesia to record trade surplus of US$500 million in February 2014 due to growing export and import decline for non oil and gas products.
Vice finance minister Bambang Brodjonegoro also added the surplus in February was also helped by growing exports of crude palm oil (CPO) and coal inline with price recovery.
Central Bureau Statistics (BPS) also earlier noted that impact of export ban for mineral ores have not impacted the trade balance, then the trade surplus could be happen in February. BPS will announce the economy data for February and March today (April 1).
In Jakarta bourse, Astra International jumped 4.4%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia gained 2.6%, Bank Mandiri rose 2.65%, Bank Negara Indonesia advanced 1.3%, Bank Central Asia surged 3.8%, and Telkom increased 1.13%.
