JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened higher 0.48% at 5149 this morning to tracking regional markets and Wall Street.
Bumi Resources (BUMI) gained further 6.4% on government’s bailout for Bakrie’s Lapindo and Berau Coal (BRAU) rose 6.1% on rights issue plan development.
Astra International also increased 1.75%, MNC Investama hiked 2.1%, Waskita Karya lifted 1.1%, and Pakuwon Jati climbed 1.9%.
Foreign investors booked net sell of Rp357.8 billion on Monday (Dec 22). Year to date, foreign net buy reached Rp43.18 trillion.
IDX gained 19.92% year to date, ranked 4th among the global indexes, behind China (1st), India (2nd), Philippines (3rd).
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.8% to US$55.70 per barrel in Asian trading this morning while gold inched down 0.09% to US$1,178.70 per ounce.
