JAKARTA (Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened down 0.7% at 4,232.66 this morning while some regional markets were closed for holiday.

Concern over uncertainty about Spain’s bailout and slumping demand due to a slowdown in global growth weighed on investor sentiment.

Several Asian markets are closed for holidays on Monday, including China, Hong Kong and South Korea, keeping activity subdued.

In Jakarta bourse, Exploitasi Energi Indonesia dropped 19.35%, Berau Coal Energy fell 1.14%, ICTSI Jasa Prima lost 3.92%, and Adaro Energy declined 1.33%. Bumi Resources and Astra International were flat. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
