JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 1.35% at 4,991.87 on Monday (May 6) in line with gains regional markets.
Malaysia’s KLSE jumped 3.38% after the ruling coalition government won a tight election. Shanghai climbed 1.16% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 0.99%. While Korea’s KOSPI declined 0.76%.
In Jakarta bourse, Astra International gained 1.45%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia jumped 3.37%, Bank Mandiri climbed 2.55%, Telkom hiked 2.65%, and Trada Maritim lifted 0.7%.
Other gainers were Kalbe Farma (1.5%), Lippo Karawaci (1.48%), Bumi Resources (3.17%), and Global Mediacom (5.81%).
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.65% to US$96.23 per barrel. The rupiah strengthened to Rp9,732 against the US Dollar. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
