JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened up 0.75% at first day of trading this year (January 2, 2014), in line with most markets in Asia region.
The Dow Jones Industrial average and S&P 500 also set record highs at the last day of trading in 2013, after Dow Jones surpassed its 2007 pre-financial crisis levels for the first time in March 5, 2013.
Among blue chip stocks, Alam Sutera gained 2.3%, Kalbe Farma jumped 3.2%, London Sumatra rose 1.5%, Lippo Karawaci hiked 1.1%, and Perusahaan Gas Negara lifted 1.68%. Other gainers were Waskita Karya (+2.47%) and Multipolar (+2.78%),
Nymex’s crude oil declined 0.7% to US$98.59 per barrel in Asian trading while gold increased 0.43% to US$1,202.30 per ounce.
