JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher by 2.23% at 4,195 Friday (August 30), led by blue chip stocks. Regional markets also helped sentiment.
In Jakarta bourse, Astra International gained 3.42%, Adaro Energy rose 2.2%, Bank Mandiri increased 2.16%, Bumi Serpong Damai lifted 2.34%, Kalbe Farma jumped 3.05%, Lippo Karawaci surged 6.48%, and Perusahaan Gas Nagara hiked 5.88%.
MNC Group stocks also supported the index’s gain; Global Mediacom (+16.67%), Media Nusantara Citra (+5.36%), Bhakti Investama (+9.52%), and Indonesia Air Transport (+6.52%).
Among plantation stocks, BW Plantation soared 15.19% and London Sumatra gained 3.47%.
Other gainers were Waskita Karya (+5.77%), Wijaya Karya (+2.35%), Bank Bukopin (+3.7%), Visi Media (+12.24%), Matahari Department Store (+2.05%), and Jaya Pari Steel (18.64%).
Among losers were Agung Podomoro Land (-5.36%), the most actively traded stock, Telkom (-1.12%), and Aneka Tambang (-3.62%).
Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.85% to US$107.87 per barrel. The rupiah strengthened further to Rp10,924 against the US Dollar. (yohanneso@yosefardi.biz)
